Mr. features a large-scale installation of his Japanese art studio, featuring paintings, drawings, sculptures, and art installations. At the time of my filming, Mr. and his assistants worked hard in the gallery to complete his largest painting in the show. The YouTube video made itself, as you will experience this groundbreaking and inspirational art that features Pop Culture icons, candy-colored characters filled with surrealistic bursts of consumption, and mass-produced treasure often found at the mega-discount retail chain Don Quijote.

Mr. was an understudy of artist protégé Takashi Murakami, who manifested the Superflat Movement, which included artists Yoshitomo Nara, Aya Takano, and Chiho Aoshima.

Crossing into pop music, Mr. animated Pharrell Williams’ “It Girl,” which has grabbed over 10 million views. Mr.’s incredible artistic vision celebrates consumer culture, cutesy kawaii, manga comics, anime, video games, and Japanese subculture decadence—a perfect visual formula for Mr.’s Superflat Movement work style.
