San Diego artist Edna Pines introduces, “Floating Garden,” a new contemporary collection of twelve paintings that reveal loving childhood memories and devotion for inner peace.

Recalling an earlier time in Iran, brightly colored birds chirp out to Edna’s gaze. Different colored birds fly above her in an oversized aviary, home to exotic varietals of flora and fauna. As her eyes met the sky, she imagined, “How peaceful and safe it must feel to be a bird soaring high above within this magical place.”

Working quickly, painting in color, and brushing in shapes, Edna immersed herself within childhood memories and loving thoughts of freedom, roaming about her childhood ranch. Essential to the viewer, she paints interpretations of her earliest memories: wildflower fields, exotic birds, and the family ranch.

Edna’s pursuit of color, texture, and finish reveals themselves as a collection of dancing organic shapes and dimensionally applied paint effects. Edna shares, “Currently, I am working on being in tune with Mother Nature in search of the purity of colors and shapes that remind me of a home I left behind.” Inspired by Monet and the Impressionists, Edna Pines reveals a collection described as contemporary, meditative, and inviting.

“Floating Garden” by Edna Pines opens with a private reception on November 9 at 4:00 to 7:00 PM. RSVP to attend this exclusive opening reception by emailing Edna Pines. Private viewings are also available through February 8, 2020.
