People love to adorn themselves and the tattoo culture in Southern California is living proof. San Diego tattoo collective Guru Tattoo invited me to design and produce a book in celebration of their artistic expertise.
Photographer, Tim Mantoani photographed dynamic images that helped capture the integrity of Guru Tattoo and the vision of Aaron Della Vedova. And Greg “Craola” Simkins created a drawing and introductory text. And featuring my favorite Guru artist Adam Hathorn who was featured in the Cartoon Network 20 Birthday Book. Guru Tattoo, an internationally recognized studio of nearly 10 years that regularly draws clients from around the world and an inspired group of tattoo professionals in Southern California. Clients range from television and music celebrities—Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters and Tommy Lee and its earns frequent awards for its imaginative artistry.
The Guru Tattoo book release and art show party takes place at Jett Gallery in Little Italy Saturday, March 2 from 7 to 11 PM. Tattoo culture wall to wall and a healthy display of original art showcase. (Read more: book layouts, photo day with Tim Mantoani).
