Happy new year! And though it has been quite some time since the last entry, I have been working on new entries that will be posted soon.
The first entry centers around a new collection of work by Arizona based fine artist, Colin Chillag. Colin will be presenting a new series of deconstructed portraits capturing finite moments in time, often left unfinished for the viewer to imagine. Colin Chillag describes “Each moment is captured and held still on the canvas while live moments continue to reveal themselves in succession of time.”
Colin’s portraits are delicately balanced, a combination of hyper-realism and abstraction working in unison to reveal life’s captured moments in time. Colin Chillag’s color pallette, preparatory rendering, rhythmic brushwork and unfinished spaces are all revealed upon each painted surface, allowing the viewer to experience each step of the artistic procedure.
