Northern California artist Richard Downs has been working on a new collection of Figural studies made of steel.
Each new sculpture is representative of Richard’s ability to transform heavy steel into deeply connected work revealing his form of human mythology and mortal connectedness. (Maquette for Family, a new bronze work available in December, please contact for more information), Richard Downs studio.
Classically trained, Richard emerged out of Art Center Pasadena as accomplished printmaker and visual storyteller inspired by Russian Constructivism and the “Kustomizer” car culture of the 1950s and 60s. During his more than 30 years of dedication to the fine arts, Richard Downs exhibits sculptural, etching and painting work throughout the United States and galleries in Atlanta, GA and Seattle, WA.
